Meeting The Sartorialist

Pants: Imogene & Willie, Top: Vintage, Shoes: Steve Madden, Belt: Banana Republic, Earrings & Cuff: Vintage, Rings: F21

The Fashion Blogger Bible: THE SARTORIALIST. We all read it, we all love it.

However, never did I think I’d actually meet the man himself, Scott Schuman.  He did a book signing at my favorite bookstore, Parnassus Books, and was every bit as kind and welcoming as I hoped he would be. I even had the chance to ask him what his favorite fashion blog was, which he responded to by coyly gushing over his girlfriend’s site (yes, his girlfriend is Garance Doré – fashion blogger extraordinaire!).

If you haven’t picked up a copy of his new book, I highly reccomend it.  Also, please consider buying it from a local bookstore in your area instead of Amazon.

Also, for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving – I hope you had a lovely holiday!

cityscape.

drape sweater: moda, dress: sparkle & fade, shoes: jessica simpson, earrings: indian, belt: vintage
so…i’m confused. the weather has me dripping sweat one minute and then freezing the next. truth be told, i find fall perfectly strange. oh well, i kind of like it because it keeps things interesting.  i decided to wear this long sweater because it’s so cozy and fantastic – i’ve literally had it for years and i always find myself coming back to it!
this weekend should be fun – i’m going to all sorts of fun events for a music festival in nashville called soundland. let me know if any of you are going to be there!

under my umbrella.

maxi: ny&co, sweater: henry cottons, clutch: indian, earrings & belt: vintage, shoes: bcbg, umbrella: dkny
it randomly dropped 30 degrees in nashville today (the high was 65!) and so i decided to rummage through my fall wardrobe. it was a rainy labor day, but i still had an amazing time brunching, shopping, and spending time with some of my favorite people.
i received this umbrella as a free gift at a nordstrom event i went to recently and i must say – i’m kind of in love with it. even when it wasn’t raining i was using it as a pointing device (which got on my family’s nerves very quickly).  oh well, i thought it was funny!
hope you all had a lovely & relaxing long weekend!

DIY neon.

shorts: vintage levis from local honey, tee: express, shoes: diy, belt: vintage, earrings: unknown, sunglasses: ual boutique, bracelets: bullets & mullets
i was about to toss my old, scuffed up wedges when a friend of mine tweeted about painting her shoes neon. to be honest, i’ve never been good at DIY projects, but i decided to give it a shot! i was really happy with the result and am loving my new neon wedges 🙂
Necklace & Stacked Rings: Clothed In Scarlet, Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Tank: Target, Denim Shirt: Akira, Sunglasses: Aldo

back in bangles.

top: bar III, jeans: blank, earrings: vintage, rings: house of harlow, bracelets: h&m and bullets and mullets, shoes: jessica simpson, satchel: coach
daring backs are so fabulous. i love pieces like this top that look so simple in the front and than have dramatic backs!
i’m also really excited about my bangles because i feel like you have to develop your own personal stack of bangles, each one with a story.  i’ve fallen love with my handcuff bracelet, which i wear with an actual handcuff, and a silver bracelet that i bought in boston years ago. hopefully one day i’ll have a stack of bangles beautifully crafted to my life & travels!
do you guys have jewelry that tells a story?

casual flare.

jeans: mizzae, tunic: saachi, shoes: jessica simpson, ring & earrings: vintage
ladies and gentlemen: this is the last of the tunic posts, i hope you all enjoyed seeing different way to wear them! this last look was the most casual and definitely something i’d wear for a relaxing day out.  i love these flared trousers with just about everything because they’re insanely huge at the bottom – i mean, they’re borderline comical!
i also wanted to reach out to you guys for some help with a quote wall i’m putting together in my room. do you have a favorite quote that you’d like to share?  i’ll post some of my favorites soon – a good quote always makes me smile!
have a fantastic weekend and treat yourself to something nice 🙂
